I recently bought the 3-cell battery version of the H14BM for my son. This truck, larger than 1/16th scale models, arrived exactly as described and is incredibly fast, performing excellently even on grass! With three speed modes (70%, 100%, and an unlocked high-speed mode), it’s perfect for different environments and skill levels. My 7-year-old has been rough with it, but it handles flips, rolls, and crashes effortlessly. The package includes two 2,000mAh Li-Po batteries, chargers, a remote, spare parts, extra tires, a wheelie bar, cooling fans, and more. The battery compartment has room for larger batteries, the remote has an extra channel for LED lights, and unlocking higher speeds is easy. It offers great control with a 70% speed mode for congested areas. Customer service was quick to respond and helpful when I needed replacement screws. With over 30 years in the RC hobby, I’ve had my fair share of RC vehicles, but this one stands out as a favorite. It looks and feels incredibly sturdy, capable of withstanding significant crashes without damage. The firm yet flexible plastics, along with the added steel and aluminum components, are major advantages. The CVDs are impressively robust, and the body is both beautiful and durable, thanks to the thick lexan shell and protective molded plastic parts. The roof sliders are a thoughtful addition that helps preserve the shell. While I find the flashing headlights and taillights a bit gimmicky, they can be turned off, which is a nice option.
Taking it out for a spin with the street tires on, the car is quick on 2S, and its smaller size makes it feel even faster. I quickly turned down the gyro as it caused a “wiggle” on hard throttle, likely due to the gyro overcorrecting for tire spin. With the gyro turned down, it handles the usual wheel spin, and steering correction keeps it in check. When I switched to a 3S pack, the performance was on another level. It needs plenty of room to run, and despite the tall gearing, it spins the tires over 20 feet under hard acceleration before gripping and taking off.
I experienced a few rollovers at high speeds with no damage. This has made me eager to explore more MJX/Hyper Go products. The combination of price, quality, speed, and durability is unbeatable, even compared to some of my more expensive RCs. This model is a fantastic way to enjoy the RC hobby without breaking the bank.
